Come in number 4! Bentley is MannandMoon's representative in the Tatler UK April edition, and he does us proud, modelling his matching Harris Tweed coat and Country Collection collar in blue and mustard tartan. If Chanel can do tweed, so can Bentley, and he is rocking the pastel look for Spring!

Crufts magazine Competition

We are running a competition with the Crufts magazine Spring edition to win a Coast collection collar and lead set. It runs from now until the 18th April and to enter, just answer an easy question - if you are unsure of the answer, just have a look at our 'About us' page! And don't forget to send in your dogs neck measurement as the collar will be made to measure.

Gaucho's Hampstead Doggy Sunday

Gaucho's restaurant in Hampstead hold a Doggy Sunday Brunch the first weekend of every month where you and your dog(s) are able to enjoy a wonderful meal and meet other dogs and their owners. 

This February was Valentine themed, so I made Neo a new red tartan Harris tweed collar and lead, I had a matching dog walker's bag and I made David a special red tartan and velvet scarf - very coordinated! 

Jorge the manager and his wonderful team greet you and your furry friend, having walked them up the red carpet and into their beautiful restaurant. You are then guided through the restaurant to the outside area to enjoy a glass (or two) of champagne while your dog gets to meet other guests and to play with the toys Gauchos provide. Neo, as usual spotted the balls straight away and tried to get as many in his mouth at once but there were plenty to go around. Ulliportraits were there drawing as many dogs as possible and the talented Penelope Malby taking photos! 

A fabulous log fire keeps everyone warm, but safe as it is well off ground level! It was wonderful being able to relax in a lovely restaurant and not worry about your dog annoying other guests, as being a group of dog owners, we were all understanding of dog behaviour and the odd over excited bark! 

Then, we were escorted to our table where a beautiful bowl awaited Neo with his name on it - which was then periodically filled with delicious morsels especially for dogs - Neo can be a little ungrateful when it comes to being offered treats and has been known to spit them out, but these were clearly superior treats as not a crumb was left! We had a wonderful meal too, a choice of beautiful cuts of steak and there were vegetarian options too. (Neo had to help me with my steak as it was a very generous portion!)

Every dog got a 'doggy bag' to take home which included a tasty 'pup' cake from Alpha&Rubys, a fragrance for your dog called 'stinker belle' from Butch&Bess (smells lovely!), and vouchers from Prestige Paws, the luxury mobile dog and cat grooming spa service, and a voucher from us too! 

It was a fabulous afternoon, and the dogs behaved amazingly - over 60 dogs and no bad behaviour - and the most important part of us being there was that Gauchos donated £5 per dog present to the Mayhew Animal Home in London!

We will definitely be going back, we hope to see some of you there next time!

Mann+Moon at the Maker's Boutique Xmas fair and Winter Gallery

The Maker's Boutique started in November 2010 as a platform to showcase handmade Arts and Crafts by the talented Hannah Marshall and Katy Dormer. Their original concept was to provide a regular market in Brighton to sell handmade wares, and has since grown very quickly into a brand synonymous with original handmade Arts and Crafts. 

This was our first experience of showing at a craft fair in Brighton and quite nerve wracking. However Hannah, Katy and all the other artists were so friendly and helpful it was good fun! The only problem was trying not to spend all our money buying the lovely crafts from the other artists - too tempting!

We are showing at the Maker's Boutique Christmas fair on the 23rd November at the Brighton Unitarian Church near the Dome 11- 5 

Hannah and Katy embraced our idea to hold a raffle for the DogsTrust charity who rehome dogs and now all the stall holders are contributing to the raffle which is amazing - thank you so much everyone! We will be donating a made to measure dog collar.

The Maker's Boutique Winter Gallery in the Brighton Fishing Quarter, on the breezy seafront until the 21st December is another chance to get some great Christmas presents

- they are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday  - our stand is right at the front, showing a lovely selection of the different Harris Tweeds we use for our products.

MannandMoon at the Country Living Fair Kitchen Table Talent Pop up Market

MannandMoon were one of 30 new crafters who won the opportunity to show at the Country Living Fair Kitchen Table Talent pop up market - the first time this has been run. We were all nervous as to what to expect, and hoping the people coming to the fair would like our products.

The tables were quite small and very close together but everyone worked together to make the space work - see the photo below of our table! (as usual any photos with me in it were not printable!!)​

​Buyers from John Lewis came to talk to and with us to give advice on business and spent time with each of us at our tables to find out more about us, our products and our 'story'. We had lots of positive feedback throughout the day and gained very valuable experience and ideas for the future.

We'd like to thank Country Living for choosing and supporting us, John Lewis for their encouragement, tips and feedback and the lovely people who visited our table for their positive words and sharing their stories of their dogs! 

Showing at the Country Living Spring Craft Fair 21st March

We are very excited to have been chosen to have a table at the Country Living Spring Fair Pop-up market on the 21st March. There were hundreds of entries for 30 tables and MannandMoon were one of the chosen few! Please come and see us at the fair - we are only there for the one day. It is a lovely fair, we've been a few times as customers! It is at the Business Design Centre in Islington and if you pre-buy your ticket it is cheaper.​ 

It is our first craft fair, so it would be lovely to see you there. Unfortunately they don't allow live animals but Neo is going to have a fun day out with Lucy and Penny.​

Well, I have to say I am quietly proud of MannandMoon to have managed to create accounts in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vine! (well, not so quietly as you all know now!) Harris Tweed heart heat pad

Neo was a busy boy on Valentine's day sending out his love to everyone on Facebook. He borrowed one of our new heat pad Harris Tweed hearts which is filled with buckwheat to retain the heat better. I have to confess we share it when we have a cuddle on the sofa as it's a handy size and fits into the microwave perfectly. Neo was exhausted after reading about all his admirers so he had to have a nap!

It's snowing in Brighton

The snow blew in today.  So far it has remained pretty and fun, rather than disruptive. Neo could hardly believe the garden transformed to soft and white, rolling about in it way beyond the point when it started to feel cold for us. His curly coat is a snow magnet:  he would be a snowdog in 5 minutes if he were to stand still.  The snow balls-up under his feet, giving him a popsicle to chew on later.  Still, this would be the perfect weather for wearing his Harris Tweed coat.
